Day 17 - Cousins

Connor has the best cousins anyone could ever ask for.  Madison (age 6) and Emma (age 3) love Connor like he is their little brother.

From the very first time Madi met Connor she has loved to hold him. She was really the only kid big enough to hold him when he was a baby and she loved to do that. Everytime we saw Madi, she would ask if she could hold Connor. She would sing to him, read to him and always kiss him on the head. So adorable! She even liked to help change his diaper when he was little. When he started to crawl, she was right there next to him encouraging him to move just a little further. Madi will definitely be a fantastic babysitter for Connor when they are older.

Emma is the closest in age to Connor and she loves to play with him. He is very lucky because he gets to spend two days with Emma at Grammy's house every week!  He loves these days =)  As soon as we walk in the door when I am dropping him off, he gives Emma the biggest smile and she comes right down on the floor to play with him.  She brings him toys to play with, stacks blocks for him to knock down and even shares her favorite huggy with him once in a while.

We are so fortunate to be able to go on family vacations with Connor's cousins every summer to the beach and this summer we went to Disney World as well. We have tried so many times to get a good group shot of the cousins, but have found that it may just be impossible to get the perfect one with all smiles or even everyone looking at the camera. They are just too funny about it. Here are the best ones I could find...

I said this about Makayla and Connor and the same is true for his cousins. Madi and Emma know Connor for Connor. All they know right now is that Connor is there fun little cousin.  They giggle and laugh with him most of the time and get annoyed with him once in a while like when he pulls their hair! I am sure that even as they become aware that he has special needs and may learn things a little slower than they do, their love for him will only grow deeper. He is so lucky to have the most amazing cousins!
